By downloading, installing, or using the Clipsule iOS application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
These Terms apply to all users of the App, including users of both Offline and Online modes.
Clipsule is an iOS application that transcribes, summarizes, and plays back video and audio content. The App offers two operating modes:
You must be at least 13 years old to use Clipsule. By using the App, you represent that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's permission to use the App.
You agree to use Clipsule only for lawful purposes. You agree not to use the App to:
⚠️ Processing copyrighted content (movies, TV shows, music, podcasts you don't own rights to) for redistribution may violate copyright law. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the rights to use any content you process through Clipsule.
Clipsule and all associated intellectual property — including but not limited to the App, its design, code, branding, and content — are owned by or licensed to us. Nothing in these Terms grants you ownership of any of our intellectual property.
You retain full ownership of any content you process through Clipsule. By using Online mode, you grant us a limited, temporary license to process your content solely for the purpose of providing the summarization service. This license terminates as soon as processing is complete and the data is deleted from our servers.
Summaries and transcripts generated by Clipsule are provided for your personal use. We make no claim of ownership over AI-generated summaries of your content.
Online mode uses cloud AI services that have associated costs. To ensure fair access for all users, we enforce the following limits:
We reserve the right to adjust rate limits at any time. Attempts to circumvent rate limits (e.g. by spoofing device tokens) will result in permanent blocking of the device.
Clipsule is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:
AI-generated summaries are for informational purposes only. Do not rely on them for legal, medical, financial, or other professional decisions.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App, including but not limited to:
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months preceding the claim (which, for a free app, is $0).
Online mode relies on third-party AI services (Anthropic Claude, OpenAI). These services have their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or actions of these third-party services. Service interruptions by these providers may temporarily affect Online mode functionality.
Your use of Clipsule is also subject to Apple's App Store Terms of Service. In the event of a conflict between these Terms and Apple's terms, Apple's terms shall govern with respect to matters specifically covered by Apple's terms (e.g. payment processing, refunds).
Apple is not a party to these Terms, and Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the App.
You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device. We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access to Online mode features at our discretion, including in cases of:
Upon termination, your locally stored summaries and transcripts remain on your device until you delete them. We have no ability to remotely delete content stored on your device.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first. If unresolved, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration rather than court proceedings, to the extent permitted by law.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes via an in-app notice. The updated Terms will be posted at this URL with a new "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
